How to do This Pranayama
Do you need to take a moment to yourself? Fortunately, this short breathwork for self care takes just five minutes. Find a secluded spot where you can be alone for this practice. You should ensure that you are comfortable and feel relaxed when you begin this sequence.
Posture
Start by sitting in a meditation pose or whatever position feels comfortable for you. Form a circle with your mouth so that it is small, tight, and round. This is similar to a boar’s mouth. Next, place both of your hands over your Heart Center. The right should be over the left.
Focus
Once you are comfortable, close your eyes. Take the time to sense the area beneath your hands. Your mind should focus on the circle that your mouth has made throughout.
Breathing
Start breathing a Cannon Breath. This is the Breath of Fire but through the mouth. Breathe steadily so that the pressure is on your inner cheeks and your tongue. However, ensure that your cheeks are not puffed out during this exercise. Continue for five minutes.
Finish
When you are ready to finish this breathing sequence, breathe in and hold. Relax the mouth and repeat ‘I am beautiful, I am innocent, I am innocent, I am beautiful’ in your mind. Breathe out through your nose. Repeat this action five times before relaxing.
