/ Kriya
Our libidos will change throughout our lives as our environments, bodies, and relationships change. Sometimes this can be a good thing, but sometimes it can leave us feeling unfulfilled, lacking connection, or like we have lost a little part of ourselves.
In this guide, we will explore a kriya which has been created to improve the connection we feel with our Third Eye, opening up the sixth sense and allowing us to rebuild these connections and boost the libido.
Benefits of this Kriya
- Increased libido
- Boosted creativity
- More capacity for love
- Improved energy and motivation
How do to this Kriya
This kriya is powerful, especially when practiced daily for a month or longer. It is essential to create the right environment before you start, in a place that you can continually return to.
This space that you create should signify safety, warmth, love, and optimism. You should invest in your favorite, high-quality incense, set up a soothing, natural soundtrack, and ensure that you will not be disturbed. This time is your “me time”, and for the kriya to be most effective you need to be able to commit to it wholly.
Part One: Finger Split, 11 minutes
Start this kriya by sitting cross legged, either in Easy Pose or another similar, seated position, whatever is comfortable for you.
The arms should be out at the sides of the body at about a 60-degree angle.
Bend the ring finger and little finger of each hand down into the palm, with the forefinger and middle finger together and straight, and the thumb pushed straight out from the hand.
This movement will see your forefinger and middle finger split, with the forefinger coming to touch the thumb, and then returning back to sitting alongside the middle finger. The other two fingers will stay still, bent into the palm.
Repeatedly move the forefinger back and forth between the thumb and the middle finger, creating a rhythm that feels natural to you. After the 11 minutes has elapsed, move onto the next exercise immediately.
This movement puts the Sixth Sense and the sexual system into a deep balance. It joins sex (the middle finger) to God (the forefinger) and the ego (the thumb) and reinforces the unbreakable relationship between the three.
Part Two: Naval Pump, Hands on the Head, 8 minutes
Start this exercise by putting the hands on the head, and allowing yourself to relax. Feel the pain and stress flow from the body as the shoulders come down and the tension flows away.
Sit up straight and strong, and when you feel ready begin to pump the navel as quickly and powerfully as you can. Do not allow yourself to slow, even as you tire, just keep on pumping it in and out, breathing deeply throughout.
To finish this part, inhale deeply and engage the root lock, holding the breath in for 40 seconds. Exhale forcefully and relax, befoing inhaling again, reengaging root lock, and holding for a further 20 seconds, and then relax.
Part Three: Rest and Talk, 8 minutes
This part may seem simple, but it is an essential part of the process. For a full eight minutes you must rest and talk.
If you are practicing with other people, chat with them, allowing your jaw to move freely and unclenched. If you are alone, speak your thoughts out loud, sing gently, and relax.
Part Four: Hand Circles, 4 minutes
Still in your seated position, bring the elbows into the side and extend the hands out in front of the body at a 90 degree angle, palms facing inwards like you are holding an imaginary box.
The fingers should point straight ahead, away from the body, each finger in contact with its neighbor. The hands should move outwards and down, drawing a circle that is around 10 inches in diameter.
The top of the circle should be a few inches higher than the starting point, and when you reach it the hands should drop sharply back to the starting point at the middle of the circle.
Continue this movement, drawing the circle quickly and then abruptly returning back to the starting point. Allow the circle to accelerate, and put all of your force and power into returning to the neutral position before starting again. The harder you do it, the more effective it is.
Part Five: Meditation, 15 minutes
Begin meditation immediately after finishing the previous exercise. Bring the right hand up in front of the face, palm facing the eyes, thumb sticking out and touching the end of the nose.
The left hand should be in the same position but above the right, with the thumb touching the middle of the forehead.
Play the music Humee Hum, Brahm Hum by Nirinjan Kaur and chant along with the recording. Focus on the shapes that the mouth makes, especially as the lips come together.
To end this part, inhale deeply and bring the hands together into the Prayer Mudra in front of the chest, with elbows at the sides and fingers pointing upwards, pushing the palms together powerfully.
Hold this position for 20 seconds before exhaling and relating, and repeat twice more.
Part Six: Fist Circles, 4 minutes
Looking at the tip of the nose, bring the thumb tips to the Mercury Mound at the base of the little fingers and wrap the fingers around the thumb to form a fist.
Circle the fists around each other in front of the Heart Centre, moving upwards when near the chest and downwards when away.
Circle as fast as you can, without letting the fists touch the chest or each other. Keep going with urgency and power.
To finish, inhale and stop the movement, holding the breath and squeezing the thumbs for a few seconds before relaxing. Repeat twice more.
Part Seven: Meditation and Self Blessing, 12 minutes
Spend the final 12 minutes of this session meditating with the hands in Prayer Mudra with the eyes looking up, focussing on the Third Eye. Breathe deeply and feel the strength that gathers there
