How to do This Pranayama
Have you got a few minutes to spare? Engaging in this Kundalini Yoga breathwork could help you boost your immune system. You may feel a tingling sensation in your lower back, thighs, and toes during this breathwork. Should you experience this feeling, it means that the process is working and it will increase immunity naturally. Here’s how you get started.
Start by sitting in Easy Pose or whichever position you find most comfortable. Bring your chin toward.
For this breathwork practice, we will be using the ‘Dog Breath’. To begin, stick your tongue out and keep it out. Quickly breathe in and out through your mouth in a panting motion. This is called a diaphragmatic breath, as your diaphragm should rise and fall in sync too.
Continue this breathwork motion for between 3 and 5 minutes. When you first start out, you may want practice for just three minutes. However, as you move through your Kundalini Yoga journey, you may find that you can sustain the technique for longer.
When you are ready to end your practice, breathe in and hold for 15 seconds. At this point, you should press your tongue against your upper palate. Next, breathe out. Repeat this process twice more to finish your session.
