We are often sponges for the energy that envelops us. When we are surrounded by positivity we take that shining light into our bodies and reflect it straight back out, but problems often occur when we are surrounded by negative energy.
Negative energy can fill us up, leaving us unable to take in positivity. It slows us down, fills us with stress, anxiety, and depression, and it quashes our creativity and our ability to show affection and compassion,
In this guide we will explore a kriya and its associated mysterious mantra that helps to banish this negative energy, leaving room for love, passion, and optimism.
Benefits of this Kriya
- Improves mindfulness
- Boosts creativity and productivity
- Gives the ability to love deeper and more passionately
- Improves mental clarity
- Brings mental energy and reduces fatigue
How to do this Kriya
Step One: Chant
Posture: Sit on the ground in Easy Pose or another seated position with a straight back
Mudra: The little finger and the ring fingers are bent down into the palm, held in place with the thumb. The middle finger is raised straight out at a diagonal, while the index finger points downwards in a diagonal, so they end up resembling scissors. This is called the Gutka Kriya.
Arms: The arms are straight out in front of the body, with the palms facing down to the Earth.
Mantra: A fast-paced chant of Ek Ong Kaar Sat Gur Prasaad, Sat Gur Prasaad Ek Ong Kaar which should be repeated for the full time allocation.
Eyes: Eyes are closed and focussed on the Third Eye
Time and Finish: Continue for 11 minutes then inhale and draw the back up with the breath, bracing against the air in the lungs, and hold it. After around a minute, or as long as you can, exhale, and then pump three quick breaths in and out.
Step Two: Focus
Start this stage by focussing on your own relaxation, with hands resting in the lap. Keep your attention held on the Third Eye and make note of what is occurring there.
Allow yourself to maintain this focus for a minute before moving on to the final step.
Step Three: Visualize
With the focus still held at the Third Eye Point, start to visualize a large tank of water, surrounded by a glistening stone walkway. On the left of the walkway there is a large door or gate, with a bridge to a temple in the middle of the body of water.
In this temple there is gentle music playing. In your mind’s eye, listen to this music, allow it to course through your body, and be one with the vision.
After two minutes inhale deeply, relax, open your eyes and begin to breathe normally. Allow your normal consciousness to begin, and notice the room around you.
When you find a few minutes in your day to spend on this kriya, you are taking ownership of the energy that you experience. Banish the negative energy that sneaks into your life and feel the stress and anxiety flow away.
