How to do this Kundalini Yoga Kriya
Before you get started, find a room where you can relax. When you are ready, complete the following steps to do the Kundalini Yoga kriya.
Exercise 1: Drinking Breath
Step 1:
Start by sitting in Easy Pose, or any position that feels comfortable to you. Make sure that your back is straight and keep your eyes closed throughout this move.
Step 2:
Bring your hands down to rest on your knees. You should adopt the Gyan Mudra with the index finger of each hand touching the thumb. The rest of your fingers should be straight.
Step 3:
Start your breathwork. You should “drink” in each breath with a long deep sip. Bring your lips together to make an oval shape and imagine that you are drinking the breath.
Next, close your mouth completely. Breathe out through your nose slowly. Make sure that all of your breath is gone before moving onto the next breath. Continue for seven minutes.
Exercise 2: All is Zero, Holding In Breath
Step 1:
Start by breathing in and holding your breath. You should be comfortable as you do this.
While you have suspended your breath, meditate on the following: “All is zero. I am zero. Each thought is zero. My pain is zero. That problem is zero. That illness is zero.”
Allow all of the negative things to leave your body. That means mental, physical, and emotional situations. None of them matter and they are all zero.
Step 2:
Breathe out completely and repeat the above process. Allow your breathing to be comfortable throughout this practice. Continue with this exercise for five minutes.
Exercise 3: One World Focus, Holding in Breath
Step 1:
Next, allow your mind to move onto the things in life that you most desire. What will bring you the happiness and expansion you have been looking for? When you have something that comes naturally to mind, you should summarize it in a single word, such as “health.”
Step 2:
When you have found the word that you are looking for, lock onto it. Visualize what it means to you and how you see it manifesting in the future of your everyday life.
Step 3:
Breathe in and hold your breath. As you do this, you should allow the thought and word to expand out of your consciousness. Cast the word out above you and focus on it.
Step 4:
Next, relax and breathe. To complete this kriya, breathe in and move the shoulders, arms, and spine. Bring your arms upwards and stretch them. Repeat this a few times.
The Takeaway
Ready to get started with this kriya? Now that you know how to do it, you can use it in your everyday life. Take the time to add it to your routine or just engage in it as a one-off.
