How to do the Lotus Prayer
If you’re hoping to do a prayer for prosperity, it may be easier than you imagine. Wherever you are in your Kundalini Yoga journey, you should find this practice simple to grasp. Here’s what you need to know.
Position:
Start in Easy Pose, or any position that feels comfortable to you. Make sure that your spine is straight at all times. Bend your elbows at the side of your body, keeping them parallel.
Hand gesture:
When you have comfortably got into the above position, move the hands to the front of your Heart Center. Your palms should be facing each other while your fingers need to be straight.
Next, spread your fingers apart and create the shape of a lotus flower by gently touching the tops of your little fingers and the tops of your thumbs together. Bring together the base of your palms and allow them to touch.
Throughout the Lotus Prayer, you should keep your other fingers apart with a slight curve. This unique shape mimics the beautiful petals of a flower.
Movement:
Keep your hands in the same position at all times. Next, start bringing your arms upward in a straight line. Bring your hands up above your head while keeping them in front of you.
Without stopping, you should effortlessly glide your arms back down to the original position. This action is completed as one continuous movement.
When you get to the starting position, begin again and continue the cycle.
Chant:
While you are engaging in the Lotus Prayer, you should listen to the Prosperity Hymn for 15 minutes. As you do so, really tune into the chant and allow yourself to drift seamlessly into a prayer-like state.
After you have completed that 15-minute cycle, switch to listening to the Instrumental Dhuni for a matter of six minutes to complete the prayer.
Alternatively, you can do the Lotus Prayer without any soundtrack at all. In that case, you should engage in silent meditation throughout the whole time period.
Finish:
If you are ready to bring the prayer to an end, breathe in and then out. Finally, relax and take a moment to come around. Continue your day.
The Takeaway!
Ready to get started? The Lotus Prayer is an excellent piece of Kundalini Yoga technology. When you have learned how to do it, you can use it time and time again in your everyday life.
