How to do this Meditation
If you’re wondering how to balance your hormones, this simple piece of Kundalini Yoga technology can help you. The meditation is simple enough for both beginners and established students. When you’re ready to get started, find a comfortable place to engage in the practice and then follow these steps:
Position:
Start by lying on your stomach. Put your chin on the ground while keeping your head straight. Stretch your arms out so they are parallel to your body. Ensure that the palms of your hands are turned upwards.
Chant:
When you have got into the right position, the next step is to start silently chanting the Saa Taa Naa Maa mantra in your mind. As you do so, focus on the meaning of each word as follows:
- Saa = the cosmo and infinity
- Taa = existence and being
- Naa = death and mortality
- Maa = resurrection and rebirth
Eye focus:
While you are meditating, you should keep your eyes focused on the brow point. Listen to and meditate on the sound as it moves through the crown of your head. Imagine the sound current flowing up and out of the Third Eye point and creating an L-shape.
Hand position:
While you are repeating the mantra, you should change your hand positions continually.
As you silently say the ‘saa’ part, press the top of your index finger to the top of your thumb. When you say ‘taa’, press the top of your middle finger to the top of your thumb.
As you say the ‘naa’ part, press the top of your ring finger to the top of your thumb. Finally, when you say the ‘maa’ part, press the top of your pinky finger to the top of your thumb.
Breathing:
As you engage in this meditation to balance the hormones, you should find that your breathing starts to regulate itself.
Timing:
Continue the meditation for between three and 31 minutes. Figure out what suits you best. When you first get started, you may only want to meditate for a short period. However, you can boost this as you learn more.
The Takeaway!
Now that you know how to do this meditation, why not try it for yourself? The more you engage in this type of practice, the easier it will become. Try it today and see how you find it.
