When you are comfortable with the chant, you can put it together with the postures and breathing to create the full kriya set. Once you are ready to try this kriya to control your behaviour, follow these simple steps:
Posture:
Start by sitting in Easy Pose, or any position that feels comfortable for you. You can try out a few different poses before you find the one that works for you, based on your flexibility and health.
Eyes:
Your eyes should be closed throughout this Kundalini Yoga kriya.
Hand position:
Bring your fingers into the palms and ensure that your hands are facing upward. The sides of your palms and your little fingers should be touching as well as your thumbs. Lift your hands to your face level.
Chant:
Put your tongue out and then back into your mouth. Next, chant ‘Ra’ and ensure that your tongue touches your upper palate as you do so.
Next, click the tongue on the upper palate and chant ‘Ma’ as well. When you have finished this sequence, repeat it again and again for the duration of the kriya.
Timing:
You should engage in this kriya to control your behavior for 11 minutes before drawing your session to a close.
Finishing:
When you are ready to complete the kriya, breathe in deeply and hold for 20 seconds. Next, breathe all of the way out. Repeat this action once more.
Then breathe in to your maximum capacity and then hold for 30 seconds. Tend your whole body during this time and be as strong as you can. Finally, breathe out completely and relax.
