The Aquarian Age is upon us—a busy and technologically advanced period. Since we are living in this time, it’s important that we’re aware of the challenges it can bring us. Here’s a quick breakdown of what you can expect.
1. Rise in depression and sadness
Problem: The modern world is hectic and loud. One of the biggest challenges of the Aquarian Age is a sharp rise in depression and sadness. The stats speak for themselves. Around 5% of adults suffer from depression around the globe, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
Experiencing a continuous low mood, low energy, difficulty making decisions, having low self-esteem, and feeling anxious are some of the side effects of this mental health condition. Some people suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) or may have depression all year around.

2. The age of information overload
Problem: It has never been easier to gain information. At the touch of a button, you can learn anything from world history to a new language. That in itself is a wonderful thing but it can come at a cost. It’s important to remember that information and wisdom are not the same thing. Don’t sacrifice one for the other.
Solution: Finding your inner wisdom is the answer. Through your ongoing Kundalini Yoga practice, you can begin to reach a state of enlightenment. The more you engage in these sacred activities, the more you will gain clarity over your waking mind. Each step moves you toward a sense of inner knowledge.
3. Surveillance and the media
Problem: The countless advancements in technology have changed our everyday lives. However, there is a dark side to these new gadgets. Everywhere we go, we are now surveyed and watched. From cameras in the streets to social media and viral news, there is no escaping the continuous scrutiny of the Aquarian Age.
Solution: Learning to take a break from the stresses of the modern world could be the way to go. When we engage in private meditation, we give ourselves a moment of peace away from these challenges. You may choose to increase your meditation practice or ensure that you engage in your daily personal practice.
4. Lack of peace and inner calm
Problem: Before the Aquarian Age, it was easier to maintain a sense of inner peace. This was a time before technology took over our everyday lives—before smartphones, emails, and the constant demand to be online. Now that we have to battle all of the above, staying calm and relaxed can be a real challenge.
Solution: Luckily, the realms of Kundalini Yoga offers us a wide selection of technology we can use. For example, you can use the anjali mudra for inner calm and relaxation. You may also want to add some calming kriyas and meditation sessions to help you find your peace and chill out.
