How to do this Kriya
Ready to get started with this Kundalini Yoga kriya? Find a quiet space in which to practice. When you are ready to begin, follow the steps we have outlined below.
Step 1: One-minute breath
First up, bring the left hand in front of the Heart Center. You should make sure that your palm is facing the floor and keep the forearm parallel to your yoga mat.
Next, straighten the right am and bring it up to a 60-degree angle. The right palm also needs to face down. Ensure that the fingers are together with the thumb relaxed entirely.
Your eyes need to be closed. Breathe slowly and extend the breath to the One Minute Breath. Continue for 11 minutes and allow the sensation to take over your being.
When that period is over, breathe in deeply — and more deeply — and then hold your breath. Squeeze your body and hold for 15 sections. Breathe out. Repeat this twice.
On the last breath, you should hold for a further 25 seconds. Then allow your breath to go entirely. Relax your muscles and move your shoulders and rib cage for a couple of minutes.
Step 2: The whistle
Stay in the same position and bring both of your arms out in front of you. Your arms need to be parallel to the yoga mat. Bring your hands together and lock each thumb over the other. You should be facing forward here. However, you need to close your eyes.
When you are ready, you can begin to whistle any song of your choice. You may select one that relaxes you or something that is meaningful to you. The stronger and more loudly you choose to whistle, the better the benefits will be. Continue for seven minutes.
Step 3: Lotus mudra
Bring your hands into the Lotus Mudra. That means that the bottom of your hands need to be level with your nose. Relax your entire body and keep your eyes closed. Continue in this meditative position for three minutes.
When you are ready to bring things to a close, interlock the fingers at the Heart Center. Breathe in, hold your breath for 10 seconds, and then breathe out. Repeat twice. After the kriya is over, take a moment to steady yourself, relax, laugh, and speak.
This kriya is simple to get your head around. No matter where you are in your spiritual awakening, you should find that you can engage in the exercise set. Use it when you are feeling detached from your sense of self and the greater universe around you.
